German kubelwagen, or jeep, that was "liberated" by the crew from a captured vehicles depot. They then repainted it haze gray with an American star on the side. This was used by the Captain as his personal jeep until ordered to turn it over to the Army.  Photo taken on the streets of Syracuse, Sicily, July 1943. Stan Barish photograph.
