Associated Press

A Fort Campbell soldier was killed in Iraq on Wednesday, the Department of Defense announced.

Army Spc. Brett T. Christian, 27, of North Royalton, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb, was killed in Mosul when his convoy came under attack by rocket propelled grenades.

Christian is one of 10 Ohio soldiers killed in Iraq since the war started March 19, according to the Defense Department.

Christian was assigned to Company C in the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry, 101st Airborne Division.

No additional details were immediately available.

Dennis Fenwick of North Royalton said Christian's family lived next door to him for about a year before moving last fall. Fenwick said Christian's mother and two brothers lived there, but he never saw Brett Christian at the house.
